Budi<br><br><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Centerville,\r\nOhio <\/strong>(January 15, 2019) \u2013 <strong>Graceworks Lutheran Services<\/strong>, a large\r\nnonprofit organization based in Centerville, Ohio is pleased to announce <strong>Judy\r\nA. Budi <\/strong>will be its new President &amp; Chief Executive Officer effective\r\nMarch 2, 2019.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Budi\r\nreplaces current CEO <strong>Willis O. Serr II <\/strong>who will retire after 30 years of\r\nservice on March 1, 2019. Budi has been part of the seasoned leadership team\r\ndeveloped by Serr and will continue the organization\u2019s strong commitment to\r\nmission and values known as Faithful Caring.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Budi\r\nwill be the first female and the eighth CEO overall in Graceworks\u2019 93 year\r\nhistory.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The\r\nGraceworks Board of Directors launched a four-month long nationwide search to\r\nfill the position. Budi was selected from a large pool of candidates. In her\r\ncurrent role, Budi serves as Vice President, Residential Care, for Graceworks\r\nLutheran Services, acting as the chief operations officer for Bethany Village,\r\nGraceworks Enhanced Living, Graceworks Housing Services, and Graceworks at\r\nHome.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A special worship service will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church on\r\nMarch 3, 2019, to mark the transition. The service will begin with a\r\ncelebration of Serr\u2019s leadership and conclude with the commissioning of Budi as\r\nthe new chief executive.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u201cThe Board\r\nhad a very difficult decision choosing from several exceptionally well\r\nqualified candidates. Ultimately the Board determined that Judy was the best\r\nperson to continue the Graceworks vision,\u201d explained Jeffrey Teeters,\r\nGraceworks Board Chair. \u201cJudy is adept at\r\nnavigating the changing landscape of healthcare which is essential to so many\r\nof our services for seniors and other vulnerable populations. We are confident Judy will successfully lead the\r\norganization forward with both strategic vision and compassion for the\r\nresidents we serve as well as our 1,200 employees.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>\u201cI am\r\nexcited and honored by this opportunity,\u201d said Budi. \u201cI have devoted the\r\nmajority of my career championing the Graceworks culture of Faithful Caring,\r\nsupporting our dedicated employees, and advocating for our residents and\r\nclients. I am committed to advancing our great reputation and developing new,\r\ninnovative strategies for residents who call one of our locations home, and for\r\nclients who rely on our services to stay in their homes.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Willis\r\nSerr, current Graceworks CEO observed, \u201cI am delighted with the Board\u2019s\r\nselection. Having promoted and mentored Judy in her current position for 15\r\nyears, I know that she is exceptionally qualified for her new role. I have\r\ngreat confidence that all Graceworks services will continue to thrive and\r\nreflect quality under her leadership.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A native\r\nof Sidney, Ohio, Budi has worked for Graceworks since 1994. She previously\r\nserved as Director of Food Services for Bethany Village and later as\r\nAdministrator of Residential Services for Bethany Village and Graceworks\r\nHousing Services. She was promoted to Vice President, Residential Care, in\r\n2003. She is a member and immediate past Chair of the Board of Directors for\r\nLeadingAge Ohio, an organization that represents over 500 nonprofit senior\r\nliving communities in the state. Judy is a member and past president of Rotary\r\nClub of Centerville and the Centerville-Washington Township Foundation Board.\r\nShe is a 2008 graduate of the Dayton Chamber of Commerce Leadership Dayton program.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Judy Budi\r\nearned her undergraduate degree in dietetics from Bowling Green State\r\nUniversity and a master\u2019s degree in nutrition from Case Western Reserve\r\nUniversity. She has completed executive education in strategic management of\r\nnonprofit organizations at Harvard Business School and the Stanford University\r\nGraduate School of Business. She lives in Washington Township with her husband,\r\nGerry.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>For more\r\nthan 90 years, Graceworks Lutheran Services has provided a variety of nonprofit\r\nresidential and community care services.
